Claire Barnett (she/her/hers) was the 2018 and 2020 Democratic nominee for Texas House District 122, where she steadily increased Democratic vote share and pushed the Republican incumbent left on issues such as public school funding, Medicaid Expansion, voting rights, and pandemic response. As Co-Executive Director of Blue Horizon Texas, Claire oversees learning and communications strategies, operations, and legal and board relations.

 

Claire previously worked as a program and project manager and strategic communications and learning consultant for adult education programs for nearly 20 years, crafting strategic communications plans, designing and developing curricula, and specializing in technology-enabled learning solutions in higher education and professional settings. Claire is trained and accredited as a volunteer Breastfeeding Counselor and previously served on the Board of Directors of Breastfeeding USA.

 

A mom of two daughters, Claire received her MEd in Instructional Design from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a BA in Latin American Studies from The George Washington University.
