Several local Texas cities, counties and school districts are holding elections on May 4th, in exactly two weeks time. As we explained in our last email, the outcome of these local races will be crucial to the communities who are going to the polls — but reactionary groups like Moms for Liberty are hoping that we all stay home.
Dark money PACS like Moms for Liberty and Parents United for Freedom are banking that these elections remain low-information and low-turnout. Well, if Blue Horizon Texas has anything to say about it, we're all showing up to the polls empowered, informed and ready to vote.
That's why we've created our Voter Guide to the May 2024 Texas Elections. We hope you'll take a moment to read our newest voter guide, and that you'll considering forwarding it on to a few friends, too. We need everyone who supports pro-democracy, pro-public education candidates (and who has an election in their area) to make it to the polls!

Where to Vote Early + Election Day:
Check your County Elections Page for details. In most cases, the county administers elections and manages polling sites. In some cases, however, school districts or municipalities may administer their own elections, so be sure to check with the local governing body if the county doesn’t have the information you are looking for.
Learn More about School Board Races:
Frank Strong's Book-Loving Texan's Guide to the May 2024 School Board Elections is our go-to resource when it comes to Texas School Board elections.
If you'd like to learn a bit more about who's running for School Board in your area, or where any candidate stands on the issues — Frank's guide is a must-read.
There's a lot riding on the outcome of these May 4th elections, and it's going to take all of us voting.
To help get out the vote this election, Blue Horizon has been working hard to make sure candidates have the tools they need to be successful, and we’re spreading the word about how important local elections are to our day-to-day lives. Would you be willing to chip in $24 now, or whatever you can afford, to help support our initiatives to provide down-ballot candidates the best training, information, and tools they need to run successful campaigns and triumph on Election Day? It is in exactly these kind of local, non-partisan races where Blue Horizon candidates are racking up the most electoral wins.
With your support, we'll also be able to continue to assemble voter guides like this one to communicate timely, comprehensive information to voters about what they’ll see on their ballot on May 4th.
