Former Candidate Conversation: Samantha Fields

In the next installment in our Former Candidate Conversations Webinar Series, Blue Horizon Texas Co-Founder and Executive Director Stephanie Phillips will interview 2018 Texas House candidate Samantha Fields. Sam was born and raised  in Lubbock, Texas. In 2018, she ran for Texas House District 84, the  first Democrat to do so in several cycles, and ended the race with 39.8%  of the total votes, the highest percentage for any Democrat in a  partisan race in the district in over three decades and raised only  around $20,000 total.

Along with her work in political  organizations like Our Revolution, Texas Democratic Women of the South  Plains, Lubbock Area Young Dems, and Planned Parenthood of Greater  Texas, Samantha also served on the Board of Directors for Lubbock  Community Theatre. She now lives in Las Cruces, New Mexico, working for  Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains as a Campaign Organizing  Specialist.
