President

Jennifer was a 2020 Democratic nominee for Fort Bend County Commissioner and 2018 nominee for Texas State House. She is a medical social worker and general family practitioner and is active in several civic and political groups.

FJ Jones, MEd

Secretary

FJ was a 2020 Democratic nominee for Justice of the Peace in Brazoria County. She currently works as an Educational Diagnostician in Houston ISD and chairs the Brazoria County Chapter of the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats.

Kathy Cheng, JD

Director

Kathy was a 2018 and 2020 Democratic nominee for Texas Supreme Court. She's a legal practitioner from the Greater Houston area and is committed to assisting qualified, passionate rural county candidates.

Madi Eden

Director

Madi was a 2020 and 2022 Democratic nominee for Texas House and ran for U.S. Congress in 2018. She co-founded Register2Vote and Civitech, has chaired the Bastrop County Stonewall Democrats, and is a former Democratic precinct chair.

Sheena King

Director

Sheena was a 2022 Democratic nominee for Texas State House in Collin County. She currently serves as Chair for the Collin County Democratic Party.

Coda Rayo-Garza, MA

Director

Coda is a former candidate for Texas State House in Bexar County. She is working on her PhD in Demography and currently works as the Director of Research and Data for Every Texan.

Clayton was a 2020 Democratic nominee for Texas State Senate. He serves as the Lampasas County Democratic Party Chair and

Deputy Finance Director for the Texas Young Dems.

Director

Josh was a 2022 Democratic nominee for Texas State Senate. He currently serves as Board President of the Brazos Valley Pride Community Center.

Director

Mary is a former Congressional candidate in Central Texas (Hill Country, Austin, San Antonio). She is a retired pastor, former math teacher, and current Director of the LGBTQI+ nonprofit, ChrysalisQ.org.

Nicolette Ardiente

Nicolette is a former candidate for Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees and current president of the Bexar County Young Dems. She works as a Community Engagement Manager at Asian Texans for Justice, where she brings a wealth of experience and passion to her work.

Michelle Butler

Michelle is a long-time progressive activist and organizer. She is the former Texas State Director for Run for Something and has worked on state and national campaigns including Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Wendy Davis.

Bruce Carpenter

Bruce is a Co-Founder and Principal of Harbour Bridge Ventures, with over fifty years of executive management, entrepreneurial, and nonprofit leadership experience. Bruce is a lifelong progressive Democrat and Social Justice activist.

Rep. Vikki Goodwin

Vikki is serving her third term representing Texas House District 47 in Western Travis County. In her three sessions, she has focused on supporting public schools, addressing health and public safety issues, and helping small businesses.

Eric Holguin

Eric is currently the Texas State Director at UnidosUS (formerly National Council of La Raza) and lives in McAllen, Texas. He is a former candidate for Texas House and US Congress.

Steve Kling

Steve was the 2018 Democratic nominee for Texas Senate District 25. A decorated combat veteran, he currently works as Principal Cloud Architect for Appfire.

Advisory Board

Our Advisory Board consists of a broad range of leaders in the Texas Democratic coalition. They have deep experience and knowledge of the existing Democratic Party and progressive infrastructure as elected officials and candidates, campaign staffers, grassroots organizers, and leaders of party organizations and allied groups. Representing the diversity of their communities, they help identify existing problems and gaps and propose potential solutions for candidates running in red and underinvested districts across the state.
