In the 2022 election cycle, more than half of Texas counties had NO Democratic candidates and Democrats failed to contest over 50 state legislative and State Board of Education seats.

OUR GOAL is that every county and every district in the state have Democratic candidates in coming election cycles.

To prepare for 2024, we are building a comprehensive list of all state, county, and local races within our target regions across the state, and we need YOUR help.
Election information for local elections such as municipal and school board elections is decentralized and requires some research. That's where you come in! Find your region, research your local elections, and add a comment in any field of this Google sheet to add details about elections, dates, term length, applicable counties, prospective candidates and more.
Remember: the mission of Blue Horizon Texas is to recruit and support candidates in rural, exurban, and red Texas, so this is not a comprehensive repository of all elections in the state, but instead focuses on Blue Horizon recruitment and candidate community targets.

Blue Horizon Texas has invited all Democrats running for statewide office or in red and rural districts and counties to join the Blue Horizon Candidate Community. Currently, over 50 candidates have joined the community, including progressive candidates for local, nonpartisan office.

OUR GOAL is that every Democratic and progressive candidate have the support they need to run effective campaigns, no matter how red the district or how long the odds are.
