This is huge... Round 1 Filing Fee Grants

I just went to the post office and dropped off a stack of envelopes that are set to go out to Democratic candidates running in some of the reddest areas of the state; in those envelopes are checks for candidate filing fees.

Recruiting candidates to run for office is hard to begin with - now imagine trying to recruit someone in ruby-red Texas?! A candidate might be ready to go and have exactly what we would want in a strong Democratic candidate but paying a $1000+ fee can be a tough pill to swallow for anyone.

Our Filing Fee Grant Program has been hugely successful since we kick-started it only a few years ago. Because of YOU we have been able to assist dozens of candidates with removing that financial cost and get them off to a strong start.

Democrats across the country are stepping up to fight back against Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s extremist agenda — and you can help us fight back here in the Lone Star State. So far this year, we have received nearly 30 requests to our Filing Fee Grant Program. With today’s batch of checks out, we’ve officially issued checks for a third of those grant requests.

We know that as we get closer to the filing deadline - December 8th - even more candidates will be stepping up to the plate to run in rural Texas. What if we shattered last cycle’s record and had Democratic candidates running everywhere?
