Saturday, November 8 is the start of the 2026 candidate filing period for Texas. Heading into and throughout the 2024 election, our team at Blue Horizon worked hand-in-hand with partners on the ground and Democratic candidates in some of the most challenging regions of the state. Thanks to you, we were able to make 2024 a record year for recruitment, starting with our Filing Fee Fund that made it possible for dozens of candidates to appear on the ballot.

We’re aiming to shatter that record this year!

With your support, we can recruit, train, and support Democratic candidates who are running in red, rural, and exurban Texas. These are candidates who will be on the frontlines of democracy, fighting for every inch of Texas and proving to voters that every voice matters.

The candidate filing period begins this Saturday and ends on December 8th.

***Where Democrats ran in 2024… Blue - at least one Democratic candidate, Gray - no Democratic candidate, White - district not on ballot***

Applications for Filing Fee Grants Now Open

Grant applications are now open to Democrats running for STATE OR COUNTY level office in Republican-held districts.

Qualifications to apply

→ Campaign Treasurer Appointment filed

→ Open campaign bank account

→ State or county office

→ R+10 advantage or no Dem in the last election

→ No other Dem is running for the seat

→ Filing fee is a significant financial barrier
