In a time when democracy itself is in question, everyday Texans stepping up to run against authoritarianism and for our freedoms are the new hope. As former candidates ourselves, we know the power of one person’s actions. Many want to write off 2026 elections entirely, but we know know that the most important way to defend democracy is to practice it by running for office. One thing is guaranteed—we will lose 100% of the elections we do not contest. While we still retain our rights to vote, Blue Horizon remains committed to ensuring Texans have a choice when they go to the ballot in May and November every year. And we will continue supporting those who have the courage and conviction to run for office.
Blue Horizon Candidate Community: We are now accepting applications for 2026 candidates to join the Blue Horizon Texas Candidate Community. Candidates should complete our Candidate Intake Survey for access.

Running in 2026: A New Hope Webinar: Whether you are running, thinking about running, or want to help us find new candidates, join us for our kickoff to our 2026 Campaign Nuts and Bolts Webinar Series, on Wednesday, October 8, at 6:00 pm Central. We’ll discuss strategic goals for early campaigns and organizers.
Filing Fee Grant Program. We’re gearing up to raise money for our 2026 filing fee grant program. We helped 25 candidates get on the ballot in 2024, and hope to help as many this year. Jump start our fundraising by donating today.
Blue Ballot Data Project. In addition to state and county offices, over 10,000 local races will be on the May or November ballot in 2026. We’ve been busy compiling these offices into our Blue Ballot Data Project, scheduled for public launch in 2026. In the meantime, to receive a list of offices on the 2026 ballot in your county, contact us and we’ll share what we know. Email us at info@bluehorizontexas.org.
